so i was just browsing Wiki the other day, and i came across an ele elite that ive never heard of before. Its Called ride the lightning http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ride_the_lightning

Being a huge fan of metallica i really wanted to make a build JUST for this skill. Im just doing this for so i can use this skill so i was wondering how you guys think it could work.

i was considering an E/A (or A/E for crit strikes and dagger runes)using RTL as a Spike/shadow step then combining that with with a standard Sin spike build

I havent even tried anything with this skill with an AMAZING name, and it probably wont work but im doing for the lawls

what do you guys think? thanks

indeed, RTL was/sorta is used to do PBAoE damage using eles. it was also used by paragons to using spear swipe, they were all pretty horrible but meh.

If you go as an ele you may want to consider some armor buff before you [ride the lightning] into a group. Might work ok for an assassin, but [deaths charge] would probably be a better choice.

Competitively speaking, no, there are no good builds based around ride the lightning and I doubt there will be. There are just to many better alternatives for the already crammed 8 man spots in GvG.

However in RA there are already quite a few builds that use it to moderate/good success, just take a look at pvx wiki.

There that might look fun. teleport in, triple KD, and snare.

I call it the "Ruin your day" build. or "snare with ouch"

and regardless what a few ignorant people may think, Metallica will always be legends in the Rock industry.
I challenge anybody to name a band who has consistently been making music for over 20 years who has not made a couple "crappy" songs.

At least the various comments will provide in site to the age/maturity level of these individuals.
The comment "I am not a fan of Metallica" would most likely come from a more mature individual. This denotes a person expressing his opinion.

The comment "Metallica sucks" would most likely come from a kid or more immature individual. This denotes a person attempting to provide a fact.

To Ride the Lightning is Shockingly fun. Too bad you can't get a Second Wind once you get too Exhausted from your Shadow Stepping. Pick out squishes and spam LOL, you wont make friends but you'll laugh your a-- off. BTW, a Protection Monk will completely f--- you up.

Metallica is full of win. However, [ride the lightning] isn't.

Although Daze's build looks like fun so I might try it, but I would probably take out [whirlwind] and [teinai's wind] and use [RTL] for a jump [shock]/[ward against foes].

Also, when I first heard of this skill, I was hoping the animation would be better. Like you know, riding lightning....

take out both of the AoE KD spells? those are my favorite part. at least keep one of them and then you can put a defensive spell in its place.

XD It's just not really my thing. I'd probably fit in [Blinding Flash] and either [WaM] or [res sig] maybe. Although I guess I could leave one in =p We'll see when i get a chance to play.

A couple of "crappy" songs? Understatement of the year I must say.
I think you mean "quite a few crappy albums". They made 3 great albums, there is no denying that but considering the quality of all of the albums made after that, I may not go as far as calling them legends.

Oh and to name another band, Iron Maiden.
Made in excess of 20 albums and I can only name 2 bad ones, 1 of which is debatable.

I made this the day they buffed Ride The Lightning. Fun build, almost guarantees a kill, shuts down enemy completely during the spike.

It lost some damage from the Horns of the Ox nerf, but it was never completely about damage in the first place.
